Before the introduction of both western religion (Christianity) and middle eastern religion (Islam) in Africa we had our beliefs… some of us refused to accept this as the change we needed while some of us decided it was time to fight for what we had.

I am a child of the fertility goddess in a land not too heard of, who is constantly condemned by her turmoils and sufferings, i am a piece of art in the heart of a continent far from the west that is seen to be fatal, I am a word that has been considered forbidden like the tale of a fruit that tells the difference between actions, I am the light in a darkened heart calling out to be seen for fear of fading away with the complexion of my skin into the shadows of segregation, I am a voice not too familiar with the accent of globalization and the advent of immigration, I am informed but I still remain a boy who suckles at the understanding of a huge political standpoint in my motherland. I see our weakness, and crave our calling to greatness and also uphold our uniqueness, but I will never regret being a child of an African mother; I am African and Proud...
